Sunday, May 7, 2023, which was Mother's Day in France, was a day which had breaking clouds with the sun slipping through now and again. Later, heavy rain in a thunder and lightening storm sent most for cover.
Returning to Ile de la Cite, I circumnavigated this great edifice, capturing a moment in the renovation of this cathedral which burned in April 2019. Along the north side is a plywood wall, with bilingual explanations of the repair process, including many photos and drawings. A small stepped seating area is located in the space in front of the western face, which looks stunning.
